My Holiday

My birthday party
On Friday the 17 of July it was my birthday party and I had an awesome time. So what happened was my friends arrived at my house and we went inside to go and open the presents and I was grateful for everything I got. After that we played pass the parcel. Then we went to the auditorium at Lindisfarne it is like a movie theater and we watched Home. It was sad and funny at the same time. Then we went out to dinner to Breakers. For drinks we had traffic lights, they were so good. For dinner I had chicken nuggets and chips, it was so good! For dessert I had the donut sundae. After Breakers I had to say good bye to my friends and that was really hard.

My favourite moment in time from camp

This is my favourite part from camp because its so much fun cooking pancakes with your friends and it was also cool because we made yummy as pancakes.

Pancake making in Masterchef my moment in time
The butter melts in the pan like a snowman melting in the sun getting ready to cook some delicious pancakes. We got all the mixture ready for the pancakes and I was already so excited. Then Shakayla puts in the pancake mixture. The pancakes look very nice and round.

After we make the pancakes we find the three best ones and then we put them on our presentation dish. We put a little bit of butter and a little bit of jam on our dish, then we put the dish on the judges table.

After the judge finishes eating Paul the judge, gives the groups their scores. He gives Lippy 5 for presentation and 4 for taste and we got 2 for teamwork. We got 2 because Fiona thought we did really well.

My camp letter

This is my post for this week. Its about me saying thank to Fiona for coming on camp.

21 May 2015

Dear Fiona,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for coming to camp. You were a very good helper and you always had a smile on your face. Whenever someone was sad you always offered to help or asked what's wrong and that is why you're such a kind person.

When Lippy had you for Masterchef I thought you were a very good helper. and only when we needed your help. When Lippy didn't have an idea, you had an idea and I thought that was very sweet.

So thank you so much Fiona for all your help. Have a great year.

Instruction writing

This week for writing I chose Instruction writing. I chose this because when we go to camp next week I have to find a person that acts exactly like me so my mum and dad don't ever know I have gone to camp so these are the Instruction to act like me.

Instruction writing

Clean room everyday
When you wake up make my bed. No clothes on the ground have all of my clothes hanged upped. Have my desk tidy. Always have my curtains pulled up when you get out of bed. Pull the curtains down when it's night time.

Love singing
You need to love singing because when I sing I just feel so relaxed and calm and when you sing you will promptly feel relaxed and calm too.

Love my family
Always be nice to my family because they will always be nice to you. Always be there for them because they will always be there for you. You can get a little bit annoyed with my two sisters because trust me they will get very annoying. Just love my family because trust me they’re lovely.

Love my pets
Feed the animals 3 times a day. Cuddle them if they are feeling sad. You will know when they are sad.

Love dancing
Jump around when the music is on. Go to ballet on Monday and Wednesday ballet starts at 5:15pm and go to jazz on Thursday at 5:00pm.

Candy Land

This week in my writing I was learning about
  • Strong adjectives
  • Different sentence starters
  • Making sense
  • A simile

Candy land
I turn around and in front of my eyes is the most amazing scene. I can see colorful lollipops that looks like growing flowers with swirls and the grass is lime frost. A rainbow path that's made out of colorful jelly going straight to the mountains. The mountains have vanilla ice cream and they are at the distance. A beautiful fairy with a lovely purple dress with lollipops on it. Clouds are floating in the lovely blue sky like planes..

Rhino report

Intro
A Rhino is a large endangered animal. Here are some interesting and cool facts about Rhino’s.

Appearance
Rhino’s skin is so thick. It is protective from bites, sunlight and wounds. Humans are mammals. There are 5 different species of rhino’s. These are the rhino’s Greater one horned rhino, Black rhino, Sumatran rhino, White rhino and Javan rhino. Rhino’s have big horns on their noses. Rhino’s weigh 1000 kgs and 3500 kgs.

Diet
Rhino’s love to eat trees, leaves and grass and the funny thing is they can only eat plants but if they want to they can eat meat. Rhinos eat up to 190 to 200 different types of plants and bark.

Natural Habitat
Rhino’s get hunted by few predators. 3 out of 5 Rhino’s are critically endangered and who  is ever doing this should stop because it is really mean for the Rhinos. Rhinos live in Africa and Southern Asia. Rhinos love to stay in grassy plains and rain forests.

Behaviour
Rhinos love to roll in the mud to keep cool. Rhinos use their horns to dig into ground for roots bulbs. Rhinos eat at night and rest all day. Rhinos have groups and the name of the groups are called a herd or a crash. An Oxpecker is really mean to the rhino because they take ticks off their bodies. Rhinos love to stay 5 km from the water.

Conclusion
This was really really fun to write because it was really interesting learning more about rhinos.

Reading task

cab.jpg
Down behind our place flows the muddy old river.  I often go there after school and watch the sticks and leaves drift sluggishly past.
One time I found a plastic drink bottle stranded on the green slime.
Noticing something different about the bottle, I fished it out.  Cutting the bottle open, I pulled out a piece of paper.  On the paper was written this letter.
        125 Riverside Road
        Wakanui
        New Zealand
        Dear friend,
If you find this letter please write to me.  I have brown hair and am 9 years old.    Please write to me, specially if you live in Australia or America.  I don't have many     friends here.
        Love from
        Amy Brown
"What a laugh," I thought.  Amy Brown lives just up the river from us.  She's in my class, too.  Amy is strange and she really doesn't have many friends.  She's often away from school, and the kids only take notice of her if they want to tease her, or want something from her, like money for ice blocks.
I put her letter in my pocket to show it around at school.
But by the end of the week that letter was still in my pocket.  I supposed that really, like Amy, I was a bit lonely, too.  Or perhaps I just didn't have enough courage to be that mean.
        What about her letter?
On Saturday morning I got another empty drink bottle and poked her letter into it.  I screwed the top tightly on and biked down the road carrying it.
From the old wharf by the factories, I threw the bottle far out into the tide.  The water there was swift enough to carry it out to sea at least.
        That was last year.
Amy is still in my class and she still seems lonely.  I haven't heard about the letter.  But then, that sort of mail can take ages to get to Australia or America.
